Jim Clarke With over thirty-five years in the construction industry, progressing from apprentice electrician, journeyman, foreman, superintendent, project manager, department manager, GM, VP, and finally to Sr. Vice President, Western Canada, of a national mechanical and electrical constructor, Jim has an accumulation of experience related to risk management of large industrial and institutional projects, labour relations, materials procurement, and change management unparallel in the construction industry.
Throughout his career Jim has been instrumental in developing project control systems, safety management programs, quality management systems, and labour relation’s strategies, associated with mechanical and electrical construction.
He has been directly involved with projects, from the tendering phase through to commissioning and turnover, ranging in size from $1,000,000.00 to $180,000,000.00.
Approximately fifty percent of his career has been involved in large institutional projects inclusive of hospital, airport, correctional, and water treatment facilities. The other fifty percent covers industrial experience with power generation, sub-station, pulp and paper, compressor and pumping station, oil sands, petro chemical, and underground high voltage cable installations.
He has been President of the Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta (Edmonton Chapter), and for a number of years he co-chaired the Labour Relations Committee, responsible for collective bargaining in Alberta with the IBEW.
Douglas Hill With over 25 years of multi-trade ICI Construction experience Doug has acquired extensive experience in the management of large multi-trade projects.
During this time he has progressed through various positions from trade apprentice, journeyman, superintendent, and project manager to Vice President, Western Canada for a major mechanical electrical contractor.
Doug is conversant in all aspects of multi-trade construction management, specializing in the mechanical trades, from the estimating\budgeting\preconstruction stages through to the completion of construction and commissioning.
Sectors worked in include industrial and institutional projects—specifically the food and beverage, automotive, steel, cement and aggregates, refining, mining, institutional healthcare, and education.
Doug has always made safety the number one priority and has an excellent safety record as a construction manager and as vice president.
Currently Doug participates on the board of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Alberta, and is a trustee on the Joint Education Committee representing the mechanical contractors.
